Hot Flashes, Going Beyond Hormone Replacement Therapy | Power Health Talk

http://powerhealthtalk.com

This week we have another fantastic broadcast! We will be discussing the topic "hot flashes, go beyond hormone replacement therapy."

Many with hot flashes, including doctors, are faced with the challenge of using hormone replacement therapy to alleviate their symptoms. Hormone replacement therapy typically consists of taking estrogen derived from a horse and a progesterone derivative. Unfortunately, chronic administration of these hormones has been associated with increased risk of breast cancer, stroke, and dementia.

Therefore, we will be discussing how to approach hot flashes without the use of medications. We will be discussing other hormones of interest that may be significantly safer to use, as well as the effects of the stress response and blood sugar on hot flashes.

Please enjoy, and send us any questions!
