Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity | Power Health Talk | Dr. Martin Rutherford | Dr. Randall Gates

http://powerhealthtalk.com

Today we are discussing a very hot topic in the media, termed non celiac gluten sensitivity. We have had a tremendous amount of feedback from patients regarding reports of a recent study which showed that non celiac gluten sensitivity does not exist, and even more interestingly the study was conducted by the gentleman who pioneered the diagnosis of non celiac gluten sensitivity, Peter Gibson.

In today's hangout we will discuss how the study in question was potentially flawed and how other very important data, published just this year by Peter Gibson, is not consistent with what is being reported in the mainstream news. So please tune in, enjoy, and forward us your questions!

The Truth About Fish Oil | Power Health Talk

http://powerhealthtalk.com

Today's hangout is on the "Truth About Fish Oil"

Many of our patients come to us taking high doses of fish oil, in an effort to decrease their inflammation, lower cholesterol, and promote vascular health.

While fish oil can do all of these things, we have found several other factors to be more important in decreasing inflammation and cholesterol, so that an individual does not have to rely on taking fish oil, or frankly some other antioxidant product. Therefore, we will discuss the nuances of this in our broadcast today.

Hot Flashes, Going Beyond Hormone Replacement Therapy | Power Health Talk

http://powerhealthtalk.com

This week we have another fantastic broadcast! We will be discussing the topic "hot flashes, go beyond hormone replacement therapy."

Many with hot flashes, including doctors, are faced with the challenge of using hormone replacement therapy to alleviate their symptoms. Hormone replacement therapy typically consists of taking estrogen derived from a horse and a progesterone derivative. Unfortunately, chronic administration of these hormones has been associated with increased risk of breast cancer, stroke, and dementia.

Therefore, we will be discussing how to approach hot flashes without the use of medications. We will be discussing other hormones of interest that may be significantly safer to use, as well as the effects of the stress response and blood sugar on hot flashes.

Please enjoy, and send us any questions!
